New Online Self Help Available

The National Identity Theft Victims Assistance Network (NITVAN) and Kansas Legal Services, with support from Pro Bono Net, are pleased to announce the availability of online A2J assistance packages for victims of identity theft. NITVAN, a national network of identity theft coalitions, is made possible through funding from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
Victims can now receive legal information on how to write:
- A letter to a creditor;
- A letter to a debt collector;
- A letter to a credit bureau.
An avatar walks victim through the process, letter can be printed & mailed to the appropriate person. These letters utilize the materials in the Federal Trade Commission’s probono guide to assist victims of identity theft.
